The Body Shop - NEW Japanese Cherry Blossom Perfume Review

Hi my gorgeous fashionistas!

I got a perfume from my local The Body Shop store recently, I wanted to try their new fragrance collection of 2012 that was just introduced not too long ago. I've always been a fan of The Body Shop, they have one of the best scents when it comes to skin care and fragrances and I absolutely adore their lotions and body scrubs. I actually want to try their cosmetics as well, they offer so many different types of beauty products, they are a little bit pricey compare to your normal beauty products that can be purchased at the mall or drug stores but the consistency and the quality of their cosmetics are really great. I really want to try their blushes, bronzer and illuminating powders because the texture and results are amazing, I always swatch them whenever I go to the store! I always enjoy visiting The Body Shop, I definitely love sniffing everything, haha, everything smell so good and I like having a sweet and floral scent around my nose all time. :)

Japanese Cherry Blossom: A Spring Day in Maruyama Park

I got a 50 mL perfume for NZ$46.00

The most precious natural extract from the four corners of the globe are hand-picked and harvested, blended with 100% organic and community fair-trade alcohol. This collection is a replacement for the original fragrance collection at The Body Shop, they don't sell the previous fragrance collection anymore since it was replaced by Spritz On: Scents Of The World collection. I'm not sure if this is the same worldwide but in New Zealand, The Body Shop doesn't sell the previous fragrance collection since the day it was replaced. If you ask me, I prefer the other vanilla fragrance collection better than the Spritz On vanilla flower because the Spritz On collection have floral extract blended with the other ingredients. The Spritz On collection is moving towards mixing floral extract with other scents, so in the case of vanilla scent, you can't really smell the scent of vanilla since it's mixed with floral and the floral extract is overpowering the scent of the vanilla. However, that's the only thing I disliked about it since vanilla is not really a flower and the other scents are flower based. The new scent is called "vanilla flower" instead of just vanilla, I badly want to get their vanilla fragrance from the old collection but unfortunately it was phased-out.

The Spritz On collection have five different scents; these are: Atlas Mountain Rose: Dawn In The Valley, Indian Night Jasmine: By The Light Of The Moon, Amazonian Wild Lily: Deep In The Rainforest, Madagascan Vanilla Flower: On A Tropical Island, and Japanese Cherry Blossom: A Spring Day In Maruyama Park. The collection is available with lotion, body oil, body spray, perfume, and concentrated perfume.

I was contemplating for so long what to get because there are alot of amazing scents to choose from and I'm a huge fan of floral scents. I've decided to try the Japanese Cherry Blossom because it's the scent that appealed to me the most, I love the smell of roses over cherry blossom but the formula of this fragrance is really amazing! The largest perfume they sell is 50mL, actually it's the only volume availabe for the perfume.

Initial Opinion: The scent of the perfume is not too strong since it's "Eau De Toilette" not "Parfum", it's not as concentrated that's why they sell concentrated version of the scent as well. I can really smell the cherry blossom extract in the perfume, I definitely like this scent better than other cherry blossom perfume I've tried. This perfume is very floral with a hint of sweetness, there's no fruity scent at all since it's pure floral. I'm really glad The Body Shop released this collection recently because they're definitely perfect for spring and summer.

Longevity 4.5/5 : This perfume lasts for a couple of hours, around 7-8 hours. It's really good for a perfume with this formula to last that long since it's not too concentrated, it's a light version perfume.

Price V.S. Quality 4/5 : The price is abit pricey for a 50mL perfume compare to your normal perfume available at the mall (not including designer and celebrity scents). However, the quality and the scent is so amazing, I don't really mind spending $46.00 for it since I know it will last me a very long time.
